Turkeys are affectionate, intelligent, and full of personality. Male turkeys love to show off and be told they’re handsome, while female turkeys often cuddle, purr when happy, and fall asleep in our laps. They love music, have a highly developed language, live in big social groups, and even carry their babies on their backs. With 46 million turkeys slaughtered each year in the U.S. for Thanksgiving alone, it’s time to change the way we think about these beautiful and intelligent birds! 
Across our three sanctuary locations, we are honored to provide rescued turkeys with a safe and happy home for the rest of their lives. Our rescued turkeys serve as ambassadors for the millions of turkeys who deserve the same happy life.
