Swollen Feet & Ankles
During pregnancy many women experience swelling and pain in their feet and ankles which can lead to:
Fallen Arches
Heel and Arch Pain Spider Veins
This can be prevented with Physical Therapy. Don’t wait until it’s too late!
“This is generally covered by Insurance”
Fallen Arches occurs due to excess swelling causing the ligaments in the feet to stretch to a point where it no longer can rebound resulting in wider and flatter feet. This leads to an increase in shoe size.
Heel and Arch Pain is caused from the excess swelling on your feet and weight gain placing more pressure on the “Plantar Fascia” which attaches to your heel bone and extends to the ball of your foot. The Plantar Fascia is located where your arch is and more flattening will cause more pain.
Spider Veins are small twisted blood vessels where the shunts no longer open causing a blue, red or purplish appearance.
