30th Annual Silver Spur Celebration
On Saturday, May 14, 2022, College of the Canyons Foundation honored Bruce Fortine with the 2022 Silver Spur Community Service Award for his longtime support of the college. Special thanks to Michael DeLorenzo for providing the great location at the Santa Clarita Studios.
A Santa Clarita Valley native, Fortine was elected to the college’s first Board of Trustees in 1967. His enthusiastic and unwavering support continues to this day. “Bruce Fortine has been a part of College of the Canyons since before its inception. And his support over the ensuing 50-plus years has been marked by singular dedication and relentless enthusiasm,” said Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook, Chancellor.
