Well, They Got Me Too!
As I get older, I fall more and more behind the times. I miss things that everyone else just seem to know about. Tiktok, Instagram, the song “Let Her Go” by Passenger. Eventually I catch up. Let her Go was first released in July of 2012. I heard it for the first time like 5 years later.
Anyways, my friend tells me that there is this video of a woman breast feeding her cat (yes I said cat) on a Delta Flight! This story was released in December of 2021. Took me a mere 10 months to learn about it. The woman was flying from Syracuse to Atlanta. If you haven’t seen the clip, please watch it now before continuing with this article. Type in: woman, breast-feed, cat & plane. I’ll wait right here for you.
When you first watch the clip, you become glued to the TV, wondering whether this woman actually has a baby under her blanket or whether she is really breast feeding her cat. Someone has to be crazy, Right? Either it’s the guy accusing her or the woman herself. Wrong. At the end she explains it was not a cat, but a Lynx, leaving us with lots of questions:
Why was this woman breast feeding her animal to begin with? Was she actually breast-feeding the cat, or was this just her way of keeping it out of the carrier? Can a woman actually breast feed a cat? Maybe you just thought, WTF? Any way you look at it, thought provoking for sure!
I truly felt good at the end when we find out it wasn’t a baby. But in hindsight I failed to ask myself two really important questions. Not being able to sleep that night (for unrelated reasons), I was curious about whether the girl was arrested or at very least, admitted into a psychiatric ward. So I did some research and learned that I failed to ask two key questions.
First question: Was the cat real? Turns out it wasn’t. If you watch the end, it is revealed to be a stuffed animal. Some of you probably caught that. Bet I bet you not a single one of you even thought to ask the second question. Ready? Second question: Was any of it real? Well my friends, the whole thing was a hoax. It was not even a real airplane. Everyone you saw was in on the gag. Well, they got me too!
