Ekata Means Oneness
Ekata Training Center is a unique family based facility that specializes in the integration of mind and body. They offer an extremely clean and well equipped gym, top level martial arts training in Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Savate, Boxing and Escrima along with Meditation. All activities at Ekata are founded upon the principle of mindfulness. Mindfulness is simply learning to be full present and aware of each moment so as to fully appreciate the experience of life. Ekata means “Oneness”. This is the underlying theme of our facility. We teach adults and children to live a healthy, balanced life by training not only the body, but the brain.
What is Mindfulness?
The practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of heightened or complete awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, or experiences on a moment-to-moment basis.
Mindfulness is at the core of everything Ekata does. We believe positive change and lasting fitness begins with a healthy mindset. By approaching fitness with the right core attitude, it becomes more than simply a workout to lose weight or get in better shape – it becomes a journey of becoming a more complete individual in mind, body, and spirit.
Benefits of Mindfulness
Changes brain structure to improve the ability to focus
Leads to increases in brain gray matter density (responsible for functions including learning and memory)
Promotes Creative Thinking
Effective in treating stress-related health problems
Increases resiliency to stress and boosts immune response
Strengthens emotional coping skills
Decreases emotionally reactive behavior
