Spring Has Sprung!

It’s Springtime!! Spring begins March 20th and ends June 21st! As the sun warms and the day lengthens, we begin to see sprouts of green shoots and beautiful flowers on their way!! Spring is a time of awakening, of healing and renewal, of the dawning and planting of new ideas. The world seems young and vibrant again!
The world over has many Springtime traditions. From India’s Festival of Love which takes place just before the turn of the seasons, brings entire communities together for one huge party. where dancing and playing with water and colorful powders is an explosion of happiness and color!! In Thailand right after the spring equinox they celebrate by throwing water everywhere and on everyone, it’s been called the world’s biggest water fight! Central Asian communities around the globe celebrate Nowruz, The festival is rooted in Iranian and Zoroastrian tradition it has spread across several cultures and it is a massive celebration that if you combined Christmas, New Year’s and the 4th of July you have Nowruz, and you have what is referred to in Persian as new day and it kicks off to a monthlong celebration! And in the United States our first celebrations of Spring is Passover and Easter!!
Passover begins Friday, April 5th and goes through April 13th. Passover is celebrated with pomp and ceremony on the first night with a special family meal called the Seder is held. Easter is on Sunday April 9th. We celebrate by going to special church services and getting together with family and friends to brunch or lunch, have Easter egg hunts and baskets of goodies for our children! Eggs are nature’s perfect symbol for springtime and new beginnings. It’s a time of renewal and rebirth and as it unfolds we wish you much happiness, comfort and peace!
