Unconditional Love With No Expectations
This month, we celebrate Mother’s Day. We talk about love in the purest form – unconditional love. As parents, siblings, children, or friends we all share roles as loving and supportive people. Love shared on a soulful level is the highest value as it’s our essence to share the love. Love is an innate energy we have, the engine that runs our lives, with the higher awareness that we’re all in this together.
When we allow differences between us to polarize our relationships and stand between us, nobody wins. When we are full of ego and pride, stuck in old patterns, we see only our own needs. It doesn’t benefit us to feel like we must always be right and win; we just create disconnection. Such discord leads to us having feelings of hurt, suffering, aggressiveness, sadness, emptiness, and a whole lot of resentment. Ultimately, when we hurt others we get hurt ourselves.
Trying to love unconditionally, and have compassion and understanding toward others takes some deep inner work. Only loving unconditionally with no judgment allows us to get over our personal differences and our personal obstacles. It’s not that we do not have different opinions, feelings, and thoughts, but it’s the ability to accept others despite our differences and to rise above them with openness, trust, and devotion. In love, with no expectations or conditions, we accept each other as we are with all our strengths and weaknesses. We always try to see the best in others, feel happy and satisfied, we want to give love and feel deserving of love.
There are many small simple ways to show love. Take time to listen, be patient and sensitive, offer help, encourage, leave a love note, surprise, laugh, hug, kiss, and have fun together. Expressing love to one another is a cosmic connection that leads to wholeness and harmony in our relationships. Love envelopes us with healing, confidence, joy, excitement, and empowerment where we can live life to its fullest, with gratitude for one another. Helen Keller said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched… but are felt in the heart.”
I wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day, with love from me.
