Chamber Official Joins Historical Society Board
Ivan Volschenk, managing partner of Evolve Business Strategies and a member of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, joins the SCV Historical Society’s Board of Directors, aiming to promote the area’s rich history. With a diverse board makeup, including expertise in various fields like graphic arts, education, journalism, and government, Volschenk’s addition enhances the society’s mission of preservation and education.
Volschenk’s natural inclination towards community service aligns well with his passion for Santa Clarita’s history. He believes that understanding the history of a community is vital for fostering a sense of identity and belonging among its residents. By celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of Santa Clarita, the History Center contributes significantly to the community’s cultural enrichment.
His goal is to make the Historical Society’s resources and programs accessible and inclusive to all members of the community. He aims to foster collaborations and partnerships with other local organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies to maximize the impact of historical preservation and education efforts in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Additionally, Volschenk’s involvement in other economic development initiatives underscores his commitment to community enhancement. The board’s current focus includes fundraising for artifact storage and restoration projects, such as the upcoming Saugus Station Museum.
