A Note From the Publishers – April 2024
We simply couldn’t resist! Our covers are in high demand, so this month, we are thrilled to feature four non-profits, each promoting their upcoming events. Each event offers its own unique experience, showcasing the diversity of our community.
First on the list is Wine on the Roof, an exceptional event presented by the WiSH Education Foundation. Guests will indulge in a six-course sit-down dinner, with each course expertly paired with wine. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all the restaurants and wineries generously donating their offerings. Save the date for April 25, and don’t miss out on this delightful evening!
We’re incredibly fortunate to have a thriving Senior Center in the Santa Clarita Valley. This year, they’re hosting California Dreamin’, a themed evening filled with dinner, live entertainment, and auctions at the beautiful Bella Vida venue on April 27.
Join the American Cancer Society on May 4 at Central Park for their Relay for Life event, themed May the Cure Be with You. From 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, enjoy Star Wars-themed areas, performances by local groups like the Valencia High Drum Line and Saugus High Jazz Band, and an inspirational Luminaria Ceremony at 7:30 pm. Let’s show our support by walking for the cure!
Cheers to 35 years! The Child & Family Center invites you to Taste of the Town at the stunning Blomgren Ranch on May 5. Sample delights from various food vendors, bid on fabulous auction items, and enjoy the day with Chris Schauble of KTLA’s morning news as the Master of Ceremonies.
But wait, there’s more! The 51st Annual Frontier Toyota Henry Mayo Golf Classic returns to the Valencia Country Club on May 11. Even if you can’t attend, you can still participate in the Golf Ball Drop for a chance to win a grand prize of $50,000. Details are available on the inside front cover of this publication. Good luck!
Let’s not forget the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, kicking off on April 20 at William S. Hart Park. Immerse yourself in the Wild West with a fantastic lineup of events over two days. And get in the Western spirit at the SENSES Block Party on Main Street on April 18, where the theme is Saddle Up.
Speaking of Main Street, Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley invites you to their 15th Annual Wine Affair on April 14. With the theme Viva Las Vegas, it’s bound to be a day to remember.
On May 3, at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, the Man & Woman of the Year committee will announce this year’s winners. With a record number of 27 nominees, it’s a particularly tough decision. We’re immensely proud that our son, Alex, was nominated by three different non-profit organizations—an honor he truly deserves. Wishing all the nominees the best of luck!
Santa Clarita is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. We hope you find something you love within the pages of this publication.
Warm regards, Linda, Moe, and Alexander Hafizi
