Salvation Army SCV Inaugural Donut Day Event A Donut Eating Contest and VIP Reception will Raise Funds for our Most Vulnerable Neighbors
The Salvation Army Santa Clarita Valley Corps is thrilled to announce the inaugural Donut Day event on National Donut Day, Friday, June 7, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at The Cube (27745 Smyth Drive). A VIP reception will follow at 5:00 p.m., featuring an award for long-time board member and former Santa Clarita Councilmember Bob Kellar. The Donut Eating Contest, free to watch, will be broadcasted live on the jumbotron. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes. VIP reception tickets are $65 and include light bites and a drink.
Funds raised will support local Salvation Army services, including food pantry, homeless support, and addiction services. For more details, visit salarmy.us/santaclaritadonutday.
Captain Rafael Viana invites the community to cheer on competitors and enjoy donut decorating for kids, sponsored by California Bakery & Café. This event honors the Salvation Army’s donut heritage from WWI, when volunteers, known as Donut Lassies, delivered donuts to soldiers, boosting morale.
Tickets for the VIP reception and sponsorships are available. For more information, visit salarmy.us/santaclaritadonutday or contact Captain Rafael Viana at (661) 210-1037 or Rafael.Viana@usw.salvationarmy.org. Follow us on Facebook @tsascv and Instagram @salvationarmysantaclarita.
