Celebrating 35 Years of Santa Clarita Magazine and 22 Years of élite Magazine: A Personal Thank You from Our Family to Yours

As we celebrate an incredible 35 years of Santa Clarita Magazine and 22 years of élite Magazine, we can’t help but reflect on the amazing journey we’ve had with this community. What started as a festive holiday guide called “Mistletoe and Holly” has grown into something so much bigger—thanks to you, our loyal readers, advertisers, and friends. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this dream a reality.
When we, Moe and Linda Hafizi, launched Santa Clarita Magazine all those years ago, our goal was simple: to highlight the people, businesses, and organizations that make Santa Clarita such a special place to live. Month after month, we’ve had the privilege of telling your stories, showcasing your passions, and shining a light on the remarkable work being done in our valley.
For us, Santa Clarita Magazine has always been more than a publication—it’s a labor of love. Through the years, we’ve dedicated countless covers to non-profits, spearheaded events like SCV Dancing with Our Stars to raise over $1.5 million for local charities, and used every opportunity to give back to the community that has given us so much.
In 2002, we expanded our vision with the introduction of élite Magazine, a bi-monthly glossy publication dedicated to the finer things in life. élite brings engaging editorials about culture, entertainment, lifestyle, fashion, and the personalities that embody the best of the Santa Clarita Valley. Our goal has always been to share, inspire, and bring joy to our readers through high-quality content that reflects the elegance and vibrancy of our community.
Now, as our son Alex carries this legacy forward, we’re more inspired than ever to continue serving this valley. Alex’s passion for giving back is undeniable—whether it’s through his work with the WiSH Education Foundation, Circle of Hope, JCI Santa Clarita, or LEAP Children’s Museum, he’s always finding new ways to support and uplift the people of Santa Clarita.
