Finally Family Homes Hosts Poker Tournament to Support Young Adults in Santa Clarita
Go “all in” for local youth at Finally Family Homes’ 3rd Annual Poker Tournament on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Oasis Resource Center in Newhall. This fundraiser returns as past winners come back to defend their titles—including last year’s champion, Samuel Birdsong. Players of every skill level are invited to a high-energy evening of cards and purpose.
The night features tournament play, dinner, drinks, a silent auction, and fun—all while raising truly vital funds for young adults ages 18–26 navigating life after foster care, homelessness, or other major challenges. Proceeds support Finally Family Homes’ Oasis Resource Center, a hub where young adults can access essentials like food and hygiene supplies; receive housing navigation and help securing stable places to live; participate in life-skills programs on budgeting, education, and career preparation; and connect with mentors.
In its first year, the Oasis has welcomed 80 young adults, who have spent nearly 500 hours in the center building relationships, gaining skills, and finding hope. Your registration or sponsorship helps keep the doors open and the shelves stocked for those who need it most.
Registration & Sponsorships: $100 per player (includes a seat at the table, dinner, and two drink tickets). Early bird: two seats for $150 if purchased by September 18. Sponsorships include recognition at the event, across digital platforms, and even on custom poker felts.
“This tournament is more than just a fun night of cards,” said Christina Dronen, Executive Director of Finally Family Homes. “Every hand played helps create a brighter future for young adults right here in Santa Clarita.”
