New Resolve – Vibe Performing Arts
The turning of the calendar has always invited reflection, and in the performing arts, new resolutions carry a special weight. Ours is a discipline built on tradition—scales, chords and music notes passed down for centuries, scripts that still speak across generations, choreography refined one rehearsal at a time. Yet every day, we’re given the gift of resolve.
A meaningful resolution in the arts isn’t about sudden reinvention. It’s about recommitting to the fundamentals that never go out of style: consistent practice, attentive listening, and respect for the craft. For singers, that may mean returning to daily vocal exercise and healthy technique before chasing new repertoire. For actors, it might be resolving to read plays regularly, not just audition sides, and to study character with patience and depth. Musicians often find the greatest growth comes from slowing down—perfecting tone, timing, and musicality before speed or flash.
We also have an invitation to courage. Try the class you’ve been putting off. Perform the piece that scares you a little. Collaboration thrives when artists step outside comfort zones while honoring the training that got them there.
Finally, resolve to remember why you began. Long before accolades or applause, there was joy—joy in sound, movement, storytelling, and shared experience. That joy is the fuel that sustains a lifetime in the arts.
As we step into a new month at VIBE, may our resolve be rooted in discipline, guided by tradition, and energized by the promise of growth still ahead. The success of education depends upon cooperation between teacher, student, and parent. VIBE Performing Arts endeavors to help all students experience excitement and dedication necessary to help them succeed in life as well as on stage.
