Blessed
April is my birth month, and each year it gives me a chance to pause and reflect on my life, to take inventory of where I’ve been and where I hope to go.
I entered this world three months premature, already facing a challenge. I was born under the zodiac sign of Taurus, often associated with strength, stubbornness, and steadiness. Looking back, I realize how those qualities have shaped my journey. Over time, I have discovered that resilience and creativity are at the center of who I am. In many ways, challenges have helped me grow. The more difficulties I encounter, the more determined and resourceful I become. I believe that obstacles often strengthen us.
One of the most meaningful discoveries of my life came later: realizing how creative I am. Creativity has become both my refuge and my strength. Through writing and art, I have found a way to express myself. I am very prolific in both creative writing and visual art. Not everything I create becomes a great success, but even the failures are valuable, as they are part of the learning process.
Staying creatively engaged also keeps my spirit energized. Many believe that creativity contributes to longevity, and I truly feel that continuing to create helps keep both my mind and heart alive.
I am also grateful for the supportive people in my life who encourage me and help turn ideas into reality. Some dreams have already come true, while others are still unfolding.
This year is especially meaningful as I turn seventy-two. In Judaism, the number seventy-two represents four times eighteen, and eighteen symbolizes “chai,” the Hebrew word for life.
This year has already brought me wonderful blessings. I will have two solo art exhibitions, one during April & May, and I have welcomed a grandson into my life. Baby Benny is the best blessing.
Growing older does not mean slowing down. For me, it means seeing life with clarity and living it with greater purpose. I want my life to be meaningful, not only for myself, but also as an example for my children. At 72, my story is still being written, and I look forward to every page that is yet to come.
