The Saugus High School Dance Team became five-time national award-winning champions this past season. They had a very successful season by bringing home two different national titles from the USA National Competition and Miss Dance Drill USA.
The team received first place in the officers dance, which was performed by Kelsey Saunders, Brittany Larochelle and Gina Neumann, second place in large dance, fifth place in large lyrical, seventh place in medium dance and Saunders received second place in the super dancer category at the USA National Competition. At the Miss Dance Drill Team USA Competition, the team received five first places, one second and two fourth places. They also received a sweepstakes award for the lyrical category and high points award in the medium category. Saunders was high points winner in the 12th grade lyrical solo category with Larochelle winning third place and Neumann receiving a fifth place title. In the Mr. USA Division, Shane Jacobik received first place and Tony Sewer third place. In the 11th grade jazz division, Tracy Bernardo won second place and Chelsea Gue was awarded a fourth place win in the lyrical division. In the 10th grade lyrical division, Samantha Bosarge received a fourth place trophy and in ninth grade lyrical Karissa Petersen was awarded second. Also, in the duets category, Jacobik and Newman received first and Sewer and Bernardo were awarded second.
