Hoedown for Hope – A BBQ Competition event benefitting Circle of Hope and Hope’s Haven Cancer Wellness Center will be held on September 14, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Put on your boots and cowboy hat and get ready to chow down some fantastic BBQ featuring family fun, live music, dancing, BBQ grilling and pie baking competitions, a silent auction and much more! This year’s event will be hosted at Back Porch Music in Newhall with over 200+ guests expected to attend. “This is going to be a great fun-filled event for the entire family,” states Laura Kirchhoff, Executive Director. “Finger lick‘in BBQ, beer and wine, all paired with four great bands and a silent auction with some amazing baskets, are sure to make for a great Saturday evening.” And for the little buck-a-roo’s, there will be a special kid’s area to keep them happy and entertained. Funds raised at Hoedown for Hope will go towards the programs and services that Circle of Hope offers to those fighting cancer in our Santa Clarita community in the form of financial, emotional, and educational support and assistance.
Grill Masters are welcomed to compete for grand prizes: First place will be awarded $1,000; Second place, $500 and Third place, $250. BBQ competition entry fee is $50. Any form of meat (i.e. chicken, beef, pork, etc.) may be grilled. Contestants provide their own grill/smoker and meat to provide 200 samples of their BBQ masterpiece to event attendees and judges. Meat must be cooked on site. Not a griller? Why not make two pies for the pie competition! It’s only $20 to enter two pies for the chance to be crowned the ultimate pie baker. All pies and BBQ’d meats will be judged at the event.
Tickets are $70 for VIP, $40 for General Admission, $10 for kids (three to 12 years old) and may be purchased online. Tickets are available at the door for $50 General Admission, $20 for kids. No VIP tickets will be sold the day of event.
