Many times in business, management allows a business to stay at the same level of performance because to change anything takes time, effort and work. They may not want to put forth the effort.
Businesses may not make changes until they have to. Of course by then it may be too late. The customer’s perception of your business may cause them to reduce the amount of business they do with you. Employees may not see the pathways for growth. They may eventually decide to go elsewhere for opportunities.
One of the greatest nee ds in business today is to be able to change and adjust; to be able to grow in abilities; to be able to ensure that each employee is motivated to have a significant contribution and provide meaningful results for your customers. Each employee needs to have a pathway for their growth. Are you providing it?
What do you need to change in your business? What is preventing you from changing it? Does your level of awareness and capability for development allow you to see what you need to see?
Most things change, wear out or are replaced over a period of time. When a key employee in your business retires or leaves, a change is necessary within your business to remain effective. The change should have been in progress for several years. Planning and foresight are essential for result-producing changes and adjustments in your business.
Knowing what to change and when to change it requires continually setting aside time to evaluate what situations and conditions would make change necessary.
Solicit feedback from every employee and as many customers as possible. Also look for things outside of your business that may provide ideas for things that could be improved in your business. A key component in all of this is identifying barriers to change your business.
