Long Lasting Tires
Would you like a way to save a few hundred bucks a year on car-related expenses, with no cash out of your pocket?
Just keep your tires inflated at the recommended pressure. It’s estimated that correct tire inflation can result in a 3.3 percent increase in fuel efficiency. According to some sources, that’s good for about $2 of savings at every fill-up. And if you factor in increased tire life, your savings are even greater [source:Allen].

RV Life: Slowing Down
It was a wonderful summer... long, but wonderful. I think we can safely say that, from an RV perspective, “It’s been a great year.”
It’s time to start thinking about slowing down and getting the RV ready for winter. Some of us will be putting our RVs into storage; others will be doing business as usual.
RV Life: Gravity Is Our Friend
We need gravity. It keeps our wheels on the road, and from an RV perspective, it’s what makes our waste plumbing work. In an RV, all drains lead to Holding Tanks. Holding tanks are the built-in tanks that hold any liquid waste coming from your RV. Tanks that hold wastewater coming from sinks and showers are called “gray” tanks. Tanks that hold toilet sewage are “black” tanks.

RV Life: First Impressions
We are all victims of first impressions. In the RV community, we are often judged by what we are driving or towing. New, old, long, short—even the number of air conditioners on top—prompts others to wonder who we are, and what we’re like. When we pull into an RV park, we are, so to speak, putting our best foot forward. A clean, sharp-looking RV will be a positive first impression.

The Financial Aspect of Buying a Used Automobile
Purchasing a used car has a number of gains over acquiring a brand-new automobile: it’s more affordable, saves you from the depreciation cost, and there’s the possibility that you can come across one that is good as new. Yet just as essential as making a choice on whether to buy new or used is the choice on how you should pay for your vehicle: do you pay cash, get a loan, or lease?
Summer Maintenance Tips
Summertime is travel time. Even with gasoline prices at an all-time high, Americans can’t resist the lure of sunny skies and the open road. According to a survey by AAA, 31.7 million Americans planned to travel by car over Memorial Day weekend 2008, despite gas prices that are an average of $.60 more per gallon over the previous year [source: The Los Angeles Times].
RV Tips: Propane 101
RVs are homes-on-wheels... designed to provide us with the same comfortable environment we enjoy in our homes, to a limited degree. Power, heating and cooking are three of the things we consider necessary in an RV. Propane provides us with the ability to heat and cook.
RV (TV) Tips
One of the most-requested modifications we receive at our RV shop is the upgrade to a bigger, more modern television. Most of the RVs built before 2008 with factory-installed televisions came with a 20-inch glass tube television set as the main unit. The glass tube units required a deep cabinet to house them. They were also very heavy and required a lot of power. To use them, you had to have your RV plugged into an outside power source, or have a generator running.
The Importance of Washing your Car and Keeping it Clean
Keeping your car clean on the inside and outside isn’t just to make it look nice. A dirty car can have a greater affect on the life of your car, and you, than you might think...
Nobody likes having a dirty car. It can make your car look terrible and make you feel stressed out or downright disgusted. Something to keep in mind is that although cleaning your car may make it look nicer, it isn’t all about cosmetics.
Tips to Avoid Bumper Damage
Many of our customers have been caught in the “garage door trap” or the “curb trap”. Well, there are several ways to avoid getting caught in these traps. I’m going to provide several suggestions so that you won’t be a victim of bumper scratches again.
First, try hanging a tennis ball from the ceiling of your garage that is eye level and touches your windshield.
Essential Summer Car-Care Tips
Before hitting the road make sure your ride is in good condition. The weak economy is still putting a damper on travel, but low gasoline prices are enticing people into their cars. According to AAA, 27 million people will take a road trip this Memorial Day weekend, up from 26.3 million last year.
1. Kick the tires. And then get out the tire-pressure gauge and check that your tires are inflated to the level recommended in your owner’s manual. Summer heat increases the pressure in tires, so test the pressure before driving far. Don’t forget to check your spare as well.
RV Tips: Protect Your Investment
With time, a freshly cut apple turns brown, a copper penny turns green, a bicycle fender becomes rusty, and the paint on your RV becomes dull. What do all of these events have in common? They are victims of oxidation.
Over time, oxidation will have its way with everything. Oxidation is the interaction between oxygen molecules and all the different substances with which they come in contact. Oxidation, for the most part, is a destructive process. It does its work on the molecular level, leaching one or more electrons when oxygen comes into contact with a substance.
