For the past three years, The ARTree has worked with the community twice a month for nine months out of each year. We believe that this brings us in direct contact with families in the area, and allows us to demonstrate the kind of work we do in our classrooms throughout the year. Our art programs regularly serve from 200 to 300 children and adults at each event we participate in. The activities are The ART SLAM, held the first Thursday of every month, and SENSES, which is the third Thursday of every month.

On September 5, 2013, proud parents Eric and Janelle Rivera welcomed a handsome baby boy into the world.  Grant Papa Rivera was born weighing five pounds, six ounces and was 18 and a half inches long.

Can you believe it?  The holidays are right around the corner!  Mixed with the excitement of the season may be a bit of dread about “The List” – you know the one, gifts for all the wonderful people in your life who seem to have everything.

What is Marzipan you ask?  Marzipan is sweet and nutty old world culinary paste made from ground almonds and sugar.  Marzipan is mainly used for sculpting intricate shapes.  It is believed that marzipan originated somewhere in the Middle East and was introduced by Europeans in the late middle ages.

Like-minded people flock together and we are ecstatic to announce the collaboration of Rhonda Coleman, owner of Rooms and Blooms, with Ma Maison.  When we moved our store location from Valencia to Newhall we expanded to include an outdoor garden experience. 

Recently in Santa Clarita, The Signal has published articles with photos of the two sculptures that are being considered for installation at the roundabout site being built in the Newhall area.  Community residents have had different opinions about each of the two pieces.  I am wondering how many people who read The Signal have seen the articles about the art to be erected in the roundabout site?
