A Battle for a Seat in Senate
There’s a battle brewing in the Santa Clarita Valley!  Republican Tony Strickland officially announced his candidacy for the state Senate last month, and Democrats and Republicans are at it.  Strickland needs to win the seat to prevent the Democratic supermajority in the Senate.  Apparently, he’ s targeting the “swing seat” in the 19th Senate District, which includes portions of the Santa Clarita Valley, as well as Thousand Oaks, Ventura and Santa Barbara.  The seat is currently held by Republican Senator Tom McClintock.
