The goal of cosmetic or reconstructive ear surgery is to re-establish normal placement of the ear in relationship to the head.  The ear has reached 90 to 95 percent of full size by age six.  Prominent ear reconstruction (Otoplasty techniques) is very rewarding for both the patient and plastic and reconstructive surgeon because restoring the normal placement of the ear results in greatly improved self-esteem and body image.

Contact lenses have come a long way in development since they were first introduced in 1960.  The early contact lenses were “hard” lenses made of PMMA or polymethylmethacrylate.  Although this represented a revolution in correction of refractive error, these contact lenses had relatively poor oxygen permeability which caused problems for the cornea.

The most concern about dentures is how to deal with loosening.  I think that the most effective approach is implant-retained dentures.  Two to four implants and attachments help to create better retention.  I have those questions from my denture patients.

Ever been to Disneyland, the happiest place on earth? A young mother in her 30s took her daughter to celebrate her birthday.  After seeing Mickey and friends, they settled down to celebrate.  The tables where they sat were not bolted to the ground.  That particular day the wind blew hard.  So hard that one of the tables was hurled and became airborne.  The edge of the table hit the young mother’s temple, and she fell to the ground.
