Spring is in the air, and for many of us SCV residents this is one of the most beautiful times of year.  However, for those who suffer from seasonal allergies, this time of year brings with it an increase in allergies and their symptoms.  These tell-tale symptoms are often red and itchy eyes, sneezing, dry throat, sinus pressure and runny nose. While many people suffer from allergies that are seasonal, many allergy sufferers know that any season can be “allergy season.”  How about acupuncture for allergies?

Ear infections are the most common reason for parents to take their children to a doctor.  Most children under the age of five years have one or more bouts of this painful condition.  Infants’ eustachian tubes become easily clogged so the fluid builds up and infections occur.  The eustachian tube leads from the middle ear located behind the eardrum to the back of the throat.  Its purpose is to drain fluid and bacteria that accumulate in the middle ear.

Spring is early this year and so is the allergy season.  The trees have started budding and there has been an explosion of pollen.  We have 35 species of evergreens, 60 species of oak, olive, eucalyptus, sycamore and box elder trees all pollinating in this area.  Include in the equation grass pollens and spring flowers coming into bloom and you have the prime allergy season.
