In the adolescent brain, amazing re-organization and sculpting is taking place!  Old, unused nerve pathways are disappearing and others are being formed and strengthened.  Many of these spectacular events occur in the front part of the brain, which lies behind the eyes and forehead area.  This part of the brain is often called the Executive; it organizes and controls many different thinking functions.  These functions include goal setting, organization, attention, working memory, judgment, and control of emotions and impulses.

Join CCRC for its 12th Annual Annabelle Godwin Play Day Event!

Kids have so many opportunities to learn and, believe it or not, they learn a lot when they play!  The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) is celebrating learning through play with its 12th Annual “Annabelle’s Play Day” event!  CCRC will host the free “Play Day” at Los Angeles Valley College, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008.

Last December, my neighbor stopped by with her annual Christmas treat.  After my many thanks, we got to talking about scrapbooking.  She had been dying to get her photos out of boxes and into scrapbooks, or even albums, but the idea was simply overwhelming.
