Vaginal Rejuvenation
Vaginal Rejuvenation is a combined cosmetic vaginal surgery of both labiaplasty and vaginoplasty. A vaginal rejuvenation is performed surgically to restore or improve the vagina’s cosmetic appearance or function. These two distinct surgeries can be performed at the same time at our office yielding cosmetically enhanced labia and a tightened vagina during one surgical visit.
Labiaplasty is a cosmetic vaginal surgical procedure that will reduce the size or change the shape of the small lips on the outside of the vagina (the labia minora).
A vaginoplasty is a surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation procedure that tightens the vagina. This is done by removing excess vaginal lining and tightening the surrounding soft tissues and muscles. During delivery of a baby the vagina and surrounding tissues and muscles become stretched. After delivery the vagina may return to a more “normal” size, but it often fails to return to its pre-pregnancy diameter. Generally, the more vaginal deliveries, the worse the condition gets. Many women will complain of decreased sensation and sexual satisfaction during intercourse. There are also numerous patients who feel loose although they have never had children. On physical exam they indeed had a vaginal diameter that was greater than expected. Vaginoplasty surgery can help these women as well.
