Yoga for Every Body
Yoga is now an accepted method used to improve ones physical and mental overall health. Doctors and Chiropractor’s send their patients to my center: Hot Yoga Haven, to aide in chronic pain, arthritis, back injuries and other ailments. Practicing yoga not only aids in improving ones mobility, flexibility, balance and strength, but improves mental clarity, and concentration.
I’ve owned several yoga studios, taught thousands of yoga classes & have seen how yoga has transformed my student’s health and wellbeing. Our classes performed in the heat help students to sweat out toxins from their bodies, increase stamina, strength, flexibility, and relieves pain from many ailments. Since we are a family centered business, we also offer non heated classes for Kids and Teens as well as Yoga Therapy for kids and adults with special needs.
After attending the Accessible Conference in Santa Barbara, I’ve felt the urgency to focus on how to provide Yoga classes that will be available to everyone, regardless of their level of physical ability. These classes will allow individuals to practice Yoga; where modifications are taught to suit a beginner with physical limitations.
Currently HYH offers a variety of classes that serve our community. Our Prenatal Yoga is important for expecting mothers. It is not currently offered anywhere else in SCV. Restorative Yoga is set in a room filled with candles; inviting relaxation, while performing several postures, using props. It’s accessible to everyone! Hatha Yoga uses breath work, chanting, concentration exercises and yoga postures to connect the body, mind, and spirit to work together harmoniously. Healing Hatha Yoga is designed for people whom have endured trauma. It was originally taught to those incarcerated. Meditation classes are a place to center yourself and learn how to be present, balanced, and focused.
In January 2017 look for new classes including Jval Yoga 101, designed to teach a basic class that shows how to break down the main postures in this series; providing modifications and offering the use of blocks and straps to access the poses for everybody as well as offering variations to postures to meet each student at their level. HYH will also offer chair yoga for those whom have a difficult time with balance, severe arthritis, the elderly, and other differences.
