The Compound Effect*
Sometimes beginning the journey to greater health and wellness can be a bit overwhelming. We compare what we see in the mirror to where we want to be and immediately begin to feel discouraged before we even start. It may seem like it’s impossible to achieve your fitness goals but I assure you that it’s not. Maybe you feel like it is too difficult or that it will take forever to look and feel your best. Friends, I am here to tell you not only is it possible but it’s easy to accomplish and it probably won’t take as long as you think.
It is important to have big goals but you have to break them down into small attainable steps in order to accomplish them. The Compound Effect is the principle of reaping huge rewards from a series of small, smart choices. You can accomplish big goals by taking small steps consistently.
What’s interesting about this process is that, even though the results are massive, the steps, in the moment, don’t feel significant. Whether you’re using this strategy for improving your health, relationships, finances, or anything else for that matter, the changes are so subtle, they’re almost imperceptible. What most people don’t realize is that these small, seemingly insignificant steps completed consistently over time will create a radical difference.
So, with respect to accomplishing your health and fitness goals it’s really as simple as being consistent with the basics for the long term. Get on a good nutritional plan and fitness routine and see it through to the end. You won’t achieve results overnight but if you employ The Compound Effect, before you know it you will achieve your goals and even surpass them over time.
By the way, The Compound Effect is always working whether you want it too or not. However, if you are not consciously making wise choices consistently guess what’s happening? You are either building momentum going in the direction that you want or you are going backwards. True success is always the result of small, smart choices, completed consistently over time. You may feel overwhelmed with your goals but if you break it down into smaller daily, weekly and monthly task and then do them consistently, I promise you will achieve them sooner than later. Every single action step adds up to compound into greater and greater success. Before you know it, you are light years ahead of where you were when you started!
