Feel, Forgive, and be Free!
The holidays are known for sharing great times with family and friends. However, it’s also a time when we over book ourselves, feel stressed out about putting together dinners, gatherings, and buying presents. The holidays may also bring out depression in some of us who have experienced past trauma; a break in a relationship or a childhood trauma. With this awareness it is essential that we create time for self-care, to learn how to be our own best friend and love ourselves unconditionally. It is so important to carve out time each day to care for ourselves through the practice of yoga, conscious breathing, and meditation. And when necessary seek outside help.
I’ve recently experienced extreme trauma in my current life as well as in my childhood. I found the most profound way to free myself is to avoid stuffing the emotions. Rather, I had to feel my emotions so that I could let them go and release the pain. Along with a daily mindfulness practice, Grief Recovery helped me to identify exactly what had caused the pain. I was guided to release the pain and was finally able to forgive. Sharon Brubaker is a Grieve Recovery Counselor in SCV.
I also recently attended Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica. It fuses ancient wisdom with modern techniques for healing and creating a life filled with love. It was the single most important experience in my life other than having my children. I now have compassion for those who have harmed me and have finally forgiven them. I was able to let go of bad habits as they no longer serve me. No more stuffing my feelings. I am happy to share my transformation with you.
