Beautiful You Rejuvenate Skin and Hair with Micro Needling and PRP
Micro needling is a minimally invasive procedure primarily used to regenerate the skin, minimizing the signs of aging. A micro needling pen containing a sterile tip with 12 tiny micro-needles is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin. This stimulates new collagen production helping with wrinkles, large pores, lax skin, scars, stretch marks, and even hair loss.
Micro needling treatment begins by applying a numbing cream to the area which makes the treatment very tolerable. Patients may feel slight pin pricks, but any discomfort is worth the benefits the treatment provides. After removal of the numbing cream, micro needling is begun using a serum to nourish and deeply penetrate the new micro-openings in the skin.
Micro needling can be performed alone to provide improvement, however when it is used in conjunction with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) the results can be significantly better than those achieved with micro needling alone. PRP is a concentration of platelets in the blood that are crucial to wound healing. When used for skin rejuvenation, PRP releases growth factors into the skin to expedite the body’s own repair process and stimulate new collagen and elastin.
When adding PRP to your micro needling treatment your blood is drawn, centrifuged, and the PRP is extracted while the numbing cream is working. PRP replaces the serum in the treatment.
Minor side effects may include redness that can last for about three to five days. Some patients also experience petechiae after the procedure, which tends to subside along with the redness. Most side effects are non-lasting. The procedure is done with minimal discomfort or pain. Results typically start to show within three to four weeks after the procedure, based on the Providers observations. After that period, it is recommended that patients return for their second treatment to ensure consistent results.
