Laughing with Di – July 2020

by | Jun 23, 2020 | Gifts from the Heart

A hummingbird made a nest on a hanging “dragonfly” decoration on the patio. There was a very large, dull green and brown garden snake in the garage.
Two huge, playful neighborhood dogs knocked me over onto the grass. (I’m ok). A coyote jauntily crossed the street as I was taking a walk. I came within one foot of a squirrel and he didn’t even move – he was certainly not afraid of me.
There are rattlesnakes on the hiking path up a hill near my house.
Zoo animals are mating, bears are frolicking in the woods, fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is high … (referencing a really old song entitled “Summertime” written by George Gershwin, sung by Ella Fitzgerald). And, oh, we just had an aftershock earthquake event! Our flora and fauna continue to survive and thrive because they follow the laws of nature. Perhaps we need to rewrite and improve the laws of man.
Frightening; sobering; what’s happening on this orb, this Earth …
Changing the rhythm of lives from Nome to Perth. Men left the planet on a falcon and a dragon … To contemplate this circular vision from space. Asking, “How can we protect – save – the human race?” Telescope down to the U.S. of A., the land of my birth … Fifty shapes come together as home and hearth. Narrow the site further to a Golden State place … Where beauty can survive behind a covered face. Pinpointing even a more specific area … Is a safe, special haven … Santa Clarita. We are enduring and abiding new technological humor … And … my failed attempt at iambic pentameter.
