Golf Tournament Supporting Relay For Life American Cancer Society – Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley Leadership Team is proud to announce its first Golf Tournament to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. It takes place at Valencia Country Club on Monday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry fee of $250 includes 18 holes, golf cart, and awards dinner as well as raffles, giveaways, prizes, and a whole lot of fun! You can sign up solo or as a team of four now at www.tinyurl.com/scvgolf.
Abby Smith, ACS senior development manager, is urging both golfers and sponsors to get involved in supporting this very important cause. Sponsors at all levels are needed from “Title” and “Gold” Sponsors to “Cart,” “Hole,“ and “Prize” sponsors. Some sponsorship levels include golfer entree fees. There is a sponsorship level to accommodate every budget.
The timing couldn’t be more meaningful. June is National Cancer Survivors Month, Men’s Health Awareness Month, and the event falls just after Father’s Day. It’s a perfect opportunity to honor all the dads and men who currently battle cancer or have completed treatment. Improving the lives of people impacted by cancer is a passion shared by fathers, survivors, caretakers, and others in our community.
Aimee Whaley, coordinating chair of the event, says, “Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley holds a special place in my heart, especially after losing my father to urethral carcinoma last January. It’s in his memory—and for everyone affected by cancer—that I continue to fight, to raise awareness, and to host events like this golf tournament. We’re looking forward to sharing the success of this event with our community.”
The Santa Clarita Relay Leadership Committee hopes that this event will help achieve their $340,000 fundraising goal for the 2024-2025 Relay For Life Season. “We hope to advance the mission of the American Cancer Society to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.”
