Transformation
Butterflies are a symbol of magical transformation. Did you know how painstaking their efforts are to free themselves from the cocoon? They must shed their former selves and rebuild entirely. A butterfly starts as a tiny egg, then pushes its body to split its skin and force its way out of the hardened chrysalis. It wriggles and stretches until it finally emerges into freedom.
This process must be done alone—it’s essential to survival. If someone intervenes to help, the butterfly’s wings won’t strengthen properly. The struggle is what gives it the strength to fly. That natural metamorphosis is nothing short of incredible.
The same is true for us. Life inevitably brings change. Over time, we grow, evolve, and shift in perspective. We are influenced by others and, in turn, influence those around us. As we expand our knowledge and develop our skills, we begin to reach for our highest potential—growth rooted in self-discovery.
Transformation is our destiny because our realities constantly shift. We must learn to let go of old phases to move forward into new ones.
Looking back, I wish someone had told me during hard times, “This too shall pass.” At age 12, I didn’t know that my highest potential already lived within me. I wish I had let go of self-doubt, trusted my instincts over the naysayers, and embraced the process. We’re not just meant to survive and grow—we’re meant to thrive.
As someone once said, “How does one become a butterfly? You have to want to fly so much that you are willing to let go of being a caterpillar.”
Yes, the journey—from crawling to struggling, to emerging—is challenging, but it’s also beautiful and worth every step.
Are you ready to spread your wings and soar?
