Success Starts Now
With midyear report cards in hand, now is the time to identify your child’s skill gaps before they turn into end of year regrets. As the school year progresses, so does the complexity of the classroom curriculum. It becomes more difficult for students with academic deficiencies to adjust to the increased difficulty of school work, which can leave them feeling overwhelmed.

Making Education an Educated Choice
Undoubtedly, raising children is a lifelong venture and one that is well worth the investment and time. Within this endeavor the time spent in school from kindergarten through high school are the most foundational and too often stressful of all. How as parents can we make good decisions and help our children make good choices during these important years? Too often we fail to consider the importance of these choices from the very beginning of a child’s education.
Use of Technology in Today’s Classroom
Today’s generation of students is more technologically advanced than any previous generations. For teachers, acquiring classroom technology can be a challenge. Different school districts and schools have different ideas about the types of technology students should have in their classrooms.
CBS Preschool Wishes You a Great New Year!
The New Year brings the feeling of fresh new starts and promises for the future. CBS Preschool is built on the future because their goal is to prepare our children for happy, loving, creative years ahead. It’s a place where children love to learn and you can see it in their eyes and smiles. They feel safe and cared for in a nurturing environment that allows them to explore and digest all of the amazing things around them.
Recognizing The Hidden Disabilities
Disabilities are usually easy to “see” in students because they are overt either in their presentation or their impact. For example, the child who is a wheelchair user due to a chronic medical condition, or the student with speech and language deficits that result in articulation issues are easy to see by the adults that work with them.
A Catholic Education is an Advantage for Life
Catholic schools are advantageous to our community because of the high academic and moral standards that contribute to a 99 percent graduation rate. Catholic schools strive to prepare our graduates with the best tools possible so they are able to be productive, wholesome citizens, and competent professionals.
Is the Difference Between Boys and Girls All in Their Heads?
We’ve all seen it play out: Even in families that give their girls tractors and encourage their boys to cuddle dolls, more often the girls will choose a pink pony over a fire engine, and the boys will take Thomas the Tank Engine over Tinker Bell any old day.
Make an Academic Resolution
It’s that time of year again, when parents across the country pause to reflect on the past twelve months and decide how to make 2015 better than 2014.
Whether you want to make more time for your family, focus on your hobbies or help improve your child’s confidence, improving your child’s education is a resolution that can positively benefit you and your child in many ways.
Grit, Perseverance and A Growth Mindset
As parents and educators, one of the most important character qualities we can help fashion within the lives of our children is perseverance. Of course, we never want our children to fail. However, not only is failure inevitable, failure can also provide the keys to future success. As C.S. Lewis penned, “Failures, repeated failures, are finger posts on the road to achievement. One fails forward toward success.” Learning to grow through failure is key to our child’s future success.
Increasing Nonverbal Communication
While we often think of communication as being primarily in the verbal realm, nonverbal communication is just as important and maybe even more crucial in developing the building blocks for socialization. Recognizing that eye contact, actions, gestures and sounds all send messages about what someone is thinking or feeling sets the stage for perspective taking, empathy and joint attention.

So, to give everyone a little bit of help and guidance we have provided a short guide for some of the most popular instruments we offer at the Academy.
How Can I Help Prepare my Child for School?
Beginning kindergarten is a huge milestone for you and your child, and you can help prepare him for it in many ways. In kindergarten, children learn more about social and communication skills than academics, so instead of drilling your child in his ABCs and numbers, concentrate more on his ability to cooperate, to talk to and play with others, and to follow directions.
Here are the best ways to get your child ready for his first big year of school.
