It seems as though the holiday season has snuck up on us, once again.  Before frustration and panic sets in, consider shopping in a new, friendly and relaxing environment.

With the temperatures dipping downward and the calendar flipping forward, the holidays are on our minds and Chris and Amy Boswell, owners of Oasis Garden & Patio, know it.  They have transformed their showroom from a place of fine outdoor living necessities to a winter wonderland boutique in an effort to bring the Santa Clarita Valley the largest selection of designer-oriented trim and trees in town. 

On this 19th birthday of two of the most important people in my life, my twins, Darren and Melissa, I am reminded how thankful and grateful I am. 

Three stunning homes in Westridge will be decorated in the season’s finest as part of Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s 27th Annual Holiday Home Tour on Saturday, December 1, 2007.

Hosted by volunteers Home Tour League volunteers, the tour is part of a time-honored Santa Clarita holiday tradition that draws thousands of people each year.  Attendees not only gain early holiday decorating ideas, they support their community hospital in the process; funds raised by the Holiday Home tour will benefit Women’s Services at Henry Mayo.

On June 21st of this year, proud parents Khristopher and Edurne Garwick of Valencia welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world.  Sophia Irene Garwick was born weighing seven perfect little pounds.

Doctors may not make house calls any more, but Santa Claus does — thanks to the Rent-A-Santa program sponsored by Zonta Club of the Santa Clarita Valley.  Santa, with a full entourage of elves and Mrs. Claus, is available for community events, private or corporate parties, family holiday get-togethers and personal visits with local children, with proceeds helping to support Zonta’s local and international projects. 

The Country Antique Fair Mall is one of Santa Clarita’s longest-standing establishments and has remained in the same location for the past 28 years.  The Fair owes its longevity to the fabulous dealers and patrons.  With an upcoming anniversary celebration, it’s hoped that the Fair will continue to prosper for the next 28 years.

NASCAR Busch Series was about to give us its best.  You could smell the burning gasoline as soon as we arrived at the area to pick up our tickets.  Did we ever feel so special as we got to hop on to the golf car and got a ride to the VIP section at the inner circle of the track.  Tracking down the Sport Clips sponsored GEICO racing team #7 was fun as we walked by team after team, up close and personal, curiously checking out all the interesting car racing equipment, until arriving at our team spot.

B&R Gallery is honored to have more than 20 original paintings by internationally acclaimed artist Bev Doolittle on display at our gallery on Sierra Highway in Canyon Country.  Bev Doolittle original watercolors are very rare, and to be able to see over 20 of these beautiful works in a single location is a real treat.
