In what is a first in the Santa Clarita Valley, a patient who was clinically blind in his right eye has regained his sight following a recent successful artificial cornea implant at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

If you have kids, you are going to need to know about car seats and the rules regarding their use.  Currently in California, children need to be in a car seat or booster seat until they are 6 years old or 60 pounds in weight.  However, there is a bill in front of the state assembly that would change this to 8 years or 80 pounds.

The lawsuit brought by Moms Against Mercury against the FDA has now gone to the Court of Appeals.  In it’s brief to the court, the FDA admitted five times that it doesn’t know if mercury fillings are safe or unsafe.  A joint meeting of the Dental Products Panel and the Central Nervous System Drugs advisory Committee of the FDA met last September to review scientific literature on the potential neurological effects of mercury in dental amalgam.
