It was a spooky afternoon as the staff at Sierra Vista Junior High School surprised students…zombie style! Dressed from head to toe in zombie attire, teachers performed a flash mob dance in the quad for the student body, strutting their moves to various songs.

It was a beautiful evening as honorees, family, friends and community members gathered in the ballroom at the Hyatt Valencia for the 5th annual 40 Under Forty Awards, on Thursday, November 21. Presented by the Santa Clarita Valley chapter of Junior Chamber International (SCV Jaycees), The Magazine of Santa Clarita and Gold Sponsor, Woodward, over 250 guests filled the room as 40 individuals were honored for their leadership and work in the community.

Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley’s celebrated the 10th Annual Bras for a Cause event this year. Since their club began sponsoring this event, they have raised $200,000 to provide breast cancer patients financial support as they go through treatment and recovery.
