Santa Clarita’s Eternal Valley Mortuary participated in the Spartan Race held in Malibu on December 7, 2013.
Despite the extreme cold and rain, these fine young people completed this four- mile course with more than 15 obstacles.

It was a Real Life Christmas as Real Life Church invited community members to experience the colors of Christmas! 

It was a spooky afternoon as the staff at Sierra Vista Junior High School surprised students…zombie style!  Dressed from head to toe in zombie attire, teachers performed a flash mob dance in the quad for the student body, strutting their moves to various songs. 
Sierra Vista Junior High teacher Rob Isquierdo organized the Halloween zombie flash mob to surprise students. 

The Holiday Home Tour has become a tradition over the last three decades for the Home Tour League, raising funds for Women’s Services. 

It was a beautiful evening as honorees, family, friends and community members gathered in the ballroom at the Hyatt Valencia for the 5th annual 40 Under Forty Awards, on Thursday, November 21.  Presented by the Santa Clarita Valley chapter of Junior Chamber International (SCV Jaycees), The Magazine of Santa Clarita and Gold Sponsor, Woodward, over 250 guests filled the room as 40 individuals were honored for their leadership and work in the community. 

On November 3, Assistance League Santa Clarita welcomed over 300 people to its 6th annual Sunset in the Vineyard fundraiser at Compa Vineyard in Newhall. 

Habitat for Humanity San Fernando/Santa Clarita Valleys raised more than $42,000 for the 87-home Enriched Neighborhood™ for Veterans on Saturday November 9, at the BBQ for the Troops event.

Guests had a blast at this year’s Bunco for Hope on Sunday, October 20 at the Tournament Players Club Valencia.  Hosted by the MOMS Club of Castaic, everyone walked away a winner. 

Community members gathered to take steps around Westfield Valencia Town Center on October 26 for the American Heart Association’s Heart & Stroke Walk. 

Just last month, West Ranch High School senior Anthony Condello completed his Eagle Scout Service Project for Troop 499 at the L.A. County Department of Animal Care & Control.  “I wanted to choose a project that not only helped my community, but also help the animals at the shelter.”

Colleagues, friends and family came together on Friday, November 8 for this year’s Zonta Tribute to honor Newhall Land and Farm’s Marlee Lauffer.  Hundreds of guests packed the ballroom at the Hyatt Valencia to pay tribute to Marlee and her contributions to our community.

More than 170 dogs and cats went from a cold shelter floor to a warm home in the span of a day, thanks to the Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair at Newhall’s Hart Park on Sunday, October 13.

The Western Los Angeles County Council / Hart District honored community leaders in the Santa Clarita Valley.   The purpose is to recognize those individuals in business, industry and government, who have exemplified the Scout Oath and Law in their daily business and personal practices.

Well over 7,000 people were in attendance at the popular Child & Family Center’s Kid Expo, which took place on Sunday, October 13 at Golden Valley High School. 

The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall made its way to Valencia Town Center parking lot thanks to the efforts spearheaded by Chuck Morris, veteran of the Korean War. 

It was a fun day as guests gathered to celebrate the five year anniversary of Telly’s Drive-In Castaic on Saturday, September 28.  

Hundreds of people gathered on September 28 to help raise funds for Family Promise of Santa Clarita.  Participants made their cardboard box “home” and were residents of Box City at the beautiful Bridgeport Park in Valencia. 

Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley’s celebrated the 10th Annual Bras for a Cause event this year.  Since their club began sponsoring this event, they have raised $200,000 to provide breast cancer patients financial support as they go through treatment and recovery.
