One of a Kind Mediterranean Bakery and Café
As soon as you walk through Man’oushee’s glass doors, you know you’ve stepped into a bakery-Café like none other in the Santa Clarita Valley. The smells of Lebanese and Armenian savory and sweet treats fill the air and transport you halfway around the world. The food is fresh, everything prepared from scratch every single morning and baked in their one of a kind brick ovens. Owners, Maral Sabounjian and Natacha Matar, who also happen to be best friends along with the great help of their friend and chef Omaya Saab, take great pride in the food and service that they provide. Maral says that “Owning this bakery is more than just a job for us; it’s about passing down traditions as well as introducing the food and a part of our culture to those who have never experienced it before.”
Election Day!
If I talk too much about politics, I am bound to tick someone off so let’s see what we can all agree upon. How about, that we in this country, from time to time in our history have elected some slightly silly people to office. Can we all agree on that? Good. One of my favorites was a Senator from South Carolina named Strom Thurmond.
Thyme for the Holiday Party
Are you thinking of throwing a holiday party? With the holidays upon us, you will most certainly be invited to many events from neighborhood get-togethers to the standard office party. Want to make yours stand out? I have put together some ideas to help you create an unforgettable event without making the old spinach dip standby dish.

Off Broadway Bistro All things to All People
While that may be a lofty goal, David Bucks is working hard to be that…with one menu and one independently owned and operated restaurant, The Off Broadway Bistro, and in our opinion, he’s on the right track.
J.R.’s Comedy Corner
When I was a little girl there were two things I loved. Dogs, any kind of dog, as well as my dolls and buying clothes for them. My mother took me to the five and dime and let me buy an outfit or two whenever we shopped there.

“Thyme” For the Holidays!
The arrival of the fall and winter holiday season can bring lots of fun, food and feasting. However, if food isn’t handled or prepared properly, food poisoning can result, and festivity can quickly turn into calamity. Food poisoning is caused by toxins, created by bacteria, which in most cases are undetectable by sight, smell or taste. Millions of people are affected by food poisoning each year.

Home of the 101 Delicious Omelets
When Egg Plantation opened in the 70s there was one goal – to serve the best tasting, original omelets on the planet. Good news – nothing has changed! The goal is still the same today. Owners Simon and Shannon Mee love the restaurant business. Simon wanted to own his own restaurant from the age of 14 and Egg Plantation fit the bill perfectly.

Musical Mayhem and Fun for All
The fall Family Season offering at the Canyon Theatre Guild is a fun-filled show, “Musical! The Bard is Back!” As any theater aficionado knows, it is considered “bad luck” to speak the name of Shakespeare’s “Scottish Play” while inside a theater. Those who are foolish enough to do so are “cursed” in their production.

“Thyme” to Get Off the Rollercoaster!
For most of us “dieting” means eating less food less often, eating foods we don’t like (raw vegetables, fat-free cottage cheese, rice cakes, etc.), and going without foods we do like (pizza, chocolate, etc.). There’s one problem with this strategy — It doesn’t work! Here’s why: when you suddenly go on a “diet”, your body goes into starvation mode. Without going into boring details, your body actually stores more fat. While you may weigh less, you’re actually fatter than you were before you started your “diet.” When you finally do eat more normally, your body then stores those calories as fat as well (in anticipation of the next time you starve it) making you even fatter!
