It was a tropical event as guests gathered at the 2nd Annual Mothers Fighting For Others (MFFO) West Coast Calendar Luau on Saturday, August 16.  Guests donned in Hawaiian attire enjoyed an evening of fun, complete with food and ticket raffles, all to benefit Saint Monica Children’s Home in Nairobi, Kenya.

The “Fit for the Future” was held on October 16 at the Hyatt with city council officials discussing the annual” State of the City” planning for the future with residents, business owners and community leaders attending the meeting. The meeting gave us a “behind the scene’s look” of the city’s current projects and priorities for building Santa Clarita’s local economy.

Ramen is a staple in Japanese cuisine, and a dish I have been eating my whole life. I always say that ramen is Japanese soul food because there is so much tradition within this dish.
Throughout my travels in Japan, I was amazed by the heart and soul that went into each bowl and the ramen masters that had been perfecting their craft for years. I aimed to learn as much as I could, and I have the upmost respect for these chefs.
