I just found out the city of Lancaster has an art museum and it has existed for 20 years.  The museum has 5,000 square feet for art exhibits and is supported by city funds.  My goodness, what a surprise to learn a community not far from Santa Clarita has an Art Museum and exists because the City of Lancaster created the museum for the residents.

After the recent rains I have been getting calls from a number of home owners who have had leaks in their homes. It has been my experience, after a little probing, that these leaks are a direct result of recent remodeling. I felt bad for the home owner as now they have damages and are facing additional cost.  There is not much glory for a contractor to fix other contractors’ mistakes. Most of us like to do a job right the first time and have happy customers. So, do your homework.

The kitchen is the heart of your home and should be beautiful, as well as functional.  Unfortunately, to replace cabinets just because they are worn out or for beauty’s sake is a very expensive, time consuming and inconvenient proposition.  Not only are the cabinets involved, but also countertops, wall treatment, flooring, plumbing fixtures and, in most cases, appliances!

The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society is proud to announce the presentation of the 1923 silent comedy “Safety Last” on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.

Students from Valencia and West Ranch high schools and Placerita Junior High have returned with a number of honors from the Student Television Network (STN) National Affiliates Convention recently in Anaheim, including first place awards in the Public Service Announcement, Spot Feature and Humorous Feature categories.

Saturday, March 8th will be a truly unique evening at the William S. Hart Park!  To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the release of Charlie Chaplin’s “The Pilgrim,” the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society and the William S. Hart Museum will be hosting a screening of the movie in the Saugus Train Station where it was originally filmed!

With shovels in hand, students from the neighborhood Fair Oaks Ranch Community School joined Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich; Pardee Homes’ President and CEO Mike McGee; and other County and school officials in planting a commemorative oak tree as part of the dedication of the new Fair Oaks Ranch Park in Canyon Country.  Joining them were local community residents, youth and community organization representatives, and other local officials from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
