Hart Students Bring Home National Video Awards
Students from Valencia and West Ranch high schools and Placerita Junior High have returned with a number of honors from the Student Television Network (STN) National Affiliates Convention recently in Anaheim, including first place awards in the Public Service Announcement, Spot Feature and Humorous Feature categories.
A Celebration of Chaplin
Saturday, March 8th will be a truly unique evening at the William S. Hart Park! To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the release of Charlie Chaplin’s “The Pilgrim,” the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society and the William S. Hart Museum will be hosting a screening of the movie in the Saugus Train Station where it was originally filmed!

Fair Oaks Ranch Park Dedicated in by Pardee Homes, County Supervisor Antonovich and Students
With shovels in hand, students from the neighborhood Fair Oaks Ranch Community School joined Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Court of Appeals affirms Water Availability and Habitat Protection for Newhall Land’s River Village
The Second District Court of Appeal (Division 6) ruled on January 29, 2008 that the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for Newhall Land’s planned RiverVillage community sufficiently addresses water supply, habitat impacts and all other issues raised by opposition groups.

The Art of Pulling a Permit Part 2 of 2
Continued from last month: Once we have all of the necessary stamped plans and engineering details we prepare checks made payable to the appropriate municipality and go to pull the permits. Our company pulls permits in the City of Santa Clarita, The County of Los Angeles, The City of Los Angeles, Calabasas, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Beverly Hills and Ventura County. All of these municipalities are basically the same with respect to pulling a permit. The biggest difference is the amount of time it takes to get the permit and the cost of the permit.
