Some Dental Problems Are Easy to See!
One of the easiest dental problems to spot is a buildup of plaque. Plaque is the soft, sticky layer of bacteria that is constantly forming on the teeth. It is usually invisible to the naked eye. However, when a person is not brushing adequately, enough plaque can build up to appear as a thick, whitish coating on the teeth at the gum line. If not removed, it can lead to other such problems as gum disease and cavities.
Class IV High Power Therapeutic Laser
We are proud to announce we have added the latest technology to treat acute and chronic pain and inflammation. It’s a new form of energy medicine called Avicenna High Powered Laser Therapy (HPLT). Orthopedic and neurosurgeons in California and Florida are using this technology instead of epidural injects and cortico-steriod injects. Why? Because it’s non-invasive (no needles, or drugs) and does not have side effects or risks. Injects run from $600 to $1,200 or more and the research is very mixed on effectiveness. Up until now, most laser therapy systems for neuron-musculoskeletal conditions only penetrated into the superficial tissues. This new high powered laser focuses energy deep inside the discs, ligaments, joint capsules, and mechano-receptors which are nerve endings in muscles, ligaments, and discs that make old injuries hypersensitive. We are the only HPLT center in the entire Santa Clarita area and the results we have had so far with our patients have been amazing.
Does Your Spinal Decompression Twist, Flex or Rotate?
To understand spinal decompression you must first understand the importance of your discs. Located between each vertebra is a cartilage disc. This disc is to act as a spacer to keep the vertebrae apart. It also acts as a rubber bushing, providing a spinal shock absorber. They also provide a specialized surface for each vertebra to mechanically move on. This movement is necessary to nourish the discs.

Mid-Back Pain: What to Do About It?
Stress related mid back pain is a common complaint that patients report when they first visit our office. The stress of careers, deadlines, conflicts, and demands on our time and money, take a huge toll on our health. We seem to manifest the symptoms of stress and strain in the vulnerable areas of our bodies. These symptoms often occur on the top of the shoulders and between the shoulder blades. They can range from muscle tightness, trigger points, decreased range of motion, to more intense sharp shooting pains. Sitting at a computer or driving for long periods of time are two common reasons for stress related mid back pain. This type of pain can be treated and improved with chiropractic care.

Dr. Fellows, a native of Illinois, studied in both the Midwest and Southern California. He graduated magna cum laude with a psychobiology major from the University of Southern California. He then earned his medical degree from the prestigious Northwestern University in Chicago. After a five-year general surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, he returned to the University of California Los Angeles’s renowned program to complete his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency. His skill and passion for his profession is apparent as UCLA extends this honor to only three surgical residents per year. He furthered his training by completing an additional six month aesthetic surgery fellowship in Los Angeles, which is accredited by the Aesthetic Foundation. His training ranges from maxillo-facial surgery to plastic and reconstructive surgery and he currently specializes in breast, body sculpturing and facial aesthetic surgery.
Electric Toothbrush
Good home care is vitally important to a healthy mouth, and evidence is mounting that oral health is linked to overall health. The majority of dental problems (tooth decay, gum disease and bad breath) are created by the harmful bacteria in dental plaque. Therefore, lowering the bacteria levels (eliminating plaque) on the teeth and tongue daily decreases the likelihood of dental problems.
What Should I Pay Attention To If I Have Invisible Braces?
The state-of-art clear braces (invisible braces, or Invisalign®) provide a major benefit of no unwarranted attention to your mouth during bracing process. Other than this, the clear aligners can be taken out while eating, drinking or brushing and flossing because they are removable. This is why Invisalign is getting more popular in recent years.
The Invisalign® treatment consists of a series of snap-on, custom fit, removable mouth trays, or aligners, which apply a controlled amount of force to your teeth, forcing them to shift. The process begins with a computer-generated image of what your teeth will look like at each stage of treatment, right up until the end. Each tray is designed to pressure specific teeth to move into place, beginning with the back teeth and finishing with the front. At the end of each two-week period, you will switch to a new set of trays. Once your treatment is complete, you will likely wear a clear retainer to ensure your new smile stays in place.
