The Grand Opening Extravaganza was held Saturday August 8 and Sunday August 9.
Kimzar Kollectables comics and toys is a shop designed for all ages and interests. They take pride in making everyone feel comfortable with their favorite heroes and villains.  The owners have a passion for what they do and it shows.
SCV Special Olympics Honors Local Physicians
Roaring crowds filled the Westfield Valencia Town Center as the “Flame of Hope” was carried through the City of Santa Clarita. Kaiser Permanente was the Total Health Sponsor of the Special Olympics Summer World Games, and Kaiser’s physicians provided medical care to all athletes competing in the games.
Santa Clarita Flooring Chamber Mixer
Santa Clarita flooring center had a chamber mixer on July 31 2015.  It was catered by Anna &Rafaiel Piña from Tacos Rafita. They had live music song stylings by Mr. Bobby Meza!!  25 Fabulous Door Prizes and  Raffels donated by numerous vendors which also included a top prize of $500 dollars towards new flooring from Santa Clarita Flooring Center. Bedrosians donated 100 feet of ceramic tile.

The 4th of July parade in downtown Newhall is one event that Santa Claritans line up for and save spots for in the wee morning sunlight. With a 5k run followed by a pancake breakfast, then floats, booths and more, downtown is the place to be!

Henry Mayo Hosts 3rd NICU Reunion
More than 400 people attended Henry Mayo’s 3rd Annual Reunion of the Kim and Steven Ullman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The event, held on June 6 at Richard Rioux Park in Stevenson Ranch, provided NICU graduates, families and hospital staff an opportunity to relax and enjoy the day.
SCCS Sophomore Captures Two CIF Swimming Titles!
Santa Clarita Christian School sophomore swimming phenomenon Victoria Kirshner swam to a pair of CIF-Southern Section Division IV gold medal Friday, May 15 at Riverside City College, winning titles in the 50 freestyle (24.01) and 100 freestyle (52.79).
SCCS Fourth Grade Students Travel to Sacramento
Most people who live in California take for granted what a wonderful state we live in. With one of the most diverse and prolific economies, California is not only a leader in the United States but also in the world. The fourth graders at Santa Clarita Christian School had a firsthand exposure to some of California’s past and present treasures as they ventured across our state from May 6 through the 8th.Â
Congregation Beth Shalom Dedicates New Sanctuary and Celebrates 40 Years!
Congregation Beth Shalom, the oldest Conservative Jewish synagogue in the Santa Clarita Valley, dedicated its new sanctuary as part of a 40th anniversary weekend May 29-31, 2015. The weekend included special services, a gala celebration and the dedication ceremony for the Congregation’s new house of worship.
Parashars’ Indian Kitchen Gives Back
On June 8, Santa Clarita resident Keith Ortiz organized a blood drive with 11 year-old Connor Coughenour in mind.
“Giving back and being selfless to help Christina Coughenour and her son Connor,” was Keith’s motivation for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles mobile blood drive. Â

Shelter Hope Pet Shop Grand Opening at Westfield
Shelter Hope Pet Shop just opened their doors inside Westfield Valencia Town Center Mall on April 16, and have already had over 75 adoptions! They held a Hollywood inspired fundraiser on June 6, at the new Santa Clarita location.
Santa Clarita Teens at LGBTQ Prom
Since its conception in 2012, Santa Clarita teens, organized by the Saugus Gay-Straight Alliance, have attended that LGBTQA Prom. Put on by the OUTreach Center and held at the Antelope Valley University on May 30, attendees were blown away by fairytale inspired decorations and great music throughout the night.
There’s a New Group In Town!
Association of Publishers for Special Sales (APSS) is a national organization, the only organization that’s devoted to helping its members sell their books to non-traditional buyers. On Tuesday, April 21, APSS of Santa Clarita held it’s first meeting at the Valencia Library.
Celebrating 30 Years of Relay For Life
After a two-day event full of live music, walking, camping, and fundraising, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life SCV raised over $3290,000 to date, this year.  With over 100 teams and 1,426 participants, it was a huge success!
