On one of the hottest, muggiest, days of summer Hunger Defense Fund collected a whopping $2,352 from their CommUnity partner, Whole Foods Market Valencia, from the five percent of the net sales for the day.
SC Regional Theatre’s First Nighters Party for Opening Night of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
The Santa Clarita Regional Theatre celebrated the opening night of their premiere production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” with an invitation-only pre-show dinner party at the lovely home of Bill and Cathy Kennedy. A hundred select guests gathered for an exquisite dinner, catered by An Affaire Extraordinaire, with wine provided by the Loose Goose Wine Festival, as they enjoyed a wonderful summer evening with balmy breezes and a lovely view in the Woodlands Estates area just across Valencia Boulevard from the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.
A Striking Success for Smooth Jazz Under The Stars
Locals danced the night away at The Smooth Jazz Under The Stars concert. The harmonious festival, produced by the Russ Group Production and presented by the Hilton Family of Hotels, was a big hit on the evening of August 4. Good food, fabulous music, gorgeous sunset...what else could one ask for?
Reaching Out
As the City embraces 20 years of Cityhood it’s painting the town, buses included, in blue and green. The new
design appeared on a brand new 60 foot “bendy” bus, which can hold up to 100 passengers and began serving school routes on August 20th.
Call of the Wild-Bear Divide Clean Up is a success
The Bear Divide Clean-Up was a smashing success. We removed piles of builder’s supplies, wood, accumulated trash, a sleeper sofa, heavy metals, recyclables and much more. Trash was removed from the entire Santa Clara Divide Road from Sand Canyon to the top of Magic Mountain. However, we did find another cache of dumped wood, building materials and more accumulated trash that we could not fit into the trucks.
“De-Lovely”
Saturday, July 14th turned out to be a big night for the 7th Woman of Honor dinner hosted by the Betty Ferguson Foundation. More than 250 people showed to support and celebrate the woman of honor for this year-Elizabeth Hopp.
Valley Industrial Association’s “007 Style” Bash
The VIA “007 Style” Bash was held on June 22 at the Mann Bio Medical Park. As well as dinner, silent auction and dancing to a live band, VIA took this opportunity to recognize local businesses and individuals.
