This month Refugio Martinez will graduate from High School.  With his head held high, he will continue his education at Antelope Valley College, as the first in his family of five children to go to college.  What he will leave behind for the community and his classmates is a thoughtful dedication to the community and his fellow classmates. 

More than 41,000 patients visited the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital emergency room last year alone. 

Everyone hopes that their family won’t end up in an emergency situation where they are in need of immediate assistance, but it is a possibility for any one of us at any given time to be placed in such a situation.  If so, you will realize rather quickly that time is of the essence.

Thank you for your interest in the City of Santa Clarita.  It is my pleasure to provide you with monthly updates on some of the major issues, programs and projects happening here in the community during this our 20th anniversary of cityhood.
This has been an exciting time for our City.

The Santa Clarita Valley is home to a former military man who once called the kitchens at the White House and Camp David his home.  For four years Navy Seaman Louis Eguaras served the tastes of former Presidents George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and numerous visiting dignitaries and celebrities.

The City of Santa Clarita, in partnership with Facey Medical Group, is proud to present the Santa Clarita Fine Craft Show on June 23 and 24 at the beautiful Old Orchard Park.

The Magazine of Santa Clarita recognizes the students of Pinecrest School as the SCV Cool Kids.

The frequency of smiles on the faces of area foster children was definitely increased because of the kindness and efforts of a group of Valencia grade school children.

Brendie Bandara’s cubicle is jam-packed with photos of her 13 nieces and nephews.  That’s because the City’s risk management administrative analyst places a heavy emphasis on her family and faith.

Meet a family of three who needs a Mom and a Dad.  If you have room in your heart and your home, why not add them to your family?  This sibling set includes Lola, 12-years-old, Paul, 10-years-old and Matthew, 9-years-old.  Lola relishes the role of big sister and loves helping out around the house with simple chores.  Paul and Matthew love following in their sister’s footsteps. 

Remember those who have lost their lives to cancer, honor survivors and support those who are still fighting the battle against the deadly disease by joining in the Santa Clarita Valley Relay For Life (RFL) signature walk event next month.  It’s a 24-hour American Cancer Society event you’ll never forget.
