The sixth annual Wine Affair, by Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley once again enlivened Town Center Drive on Sunday, October 20. Supporters came out in hundreds to enjoy the wine, beer, tastings, and live music across the twelve venues staged up and down the street.

It was an evening of fun as guests gathered at The Paseo Club on Thursday, October 10 to honor the 40 Under Forty nominees. The Magazine of Santa Clarita and JCI Santa Clarita held the special 5th year Anniversary Mixer in conjunction with the Child & Family Center Young Leadership Core.

An Evening of Laughter with Paul Reiser
Laughter filled the Performing Arts Center as funnyman Paul Reiser made his debut in the Santa Clarita Valley on Saturday, October 5. The stand-up comedian entertained the audience with his hilarious take on life. From being married to raising kids, getting older and everything in between, Paul had the audience laughing hysterically, and at times, in tears.

It was a fun day in the summer sun for guests at the Single Mothers Outreach 3rd Annual Pool Party! This year’s pool party was held on August 3 at the Santa Clarita Valley Aquatic Center.

The Belgians have come to town…Old Town that is! It was another well-attended event at this year’s The Belgians Are Coming Beer Festival, which took place on Sunday, September 1 in Old Town Newhall.
Ukulele Virtuoso and Composer Performs at the Performing Arts Center
I was completely mesmerized. He immediately had my attention with his amazing rendition of Adele’s Rolling In The Deep. Ukulele superstar Jake Shimabukuro sold out the Performing Arts Center on September 11, receiving a standing ovation from a very enthusiastic crowd of believers.
HandsOn 9/11 Day of Service & Remembrance
It was a beautiful evening as hundreds of guests joined at Westfield Valencia Town Center to enjoy HandsOn Santa Clarita’s Inaugural 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance to honor the spirit of community and volunteerism, and to pay tribute to the victims of September 11.

SCV Leadership Award Winners 2013

The event was a huge success with a sold out crowd of over 350.
SCCS Goes to Washington!
On June 10, 37 students from SCCS embarked on a six day trip to Washington D.C. for the 8th grade’s annual visit to see and learn about our Nation’s Capitol.
“We learned a lot and were able to experience some of the rich history of our nation! Our D.C. trip really opens our student’s eyes and allows them to gain a deeper understanding of the U.S. government and the democratic system,” said one parent.
Hittin’ the Greens For a Great Cause
It was a beautiful day at the 5th Annual Summer Showdown to benefit the SCV Senior Center as guests enjoyed a day of world-class golf, food, fun and prizes on Monday, June 24 at the beautiful Tournament Players Club in Valencia.
