Assistance League Installs Officers
The 2009 - 2010 Assistance League Board of Officers was installed June 2. The Annual Meeting and installation of new Board members followed a festive dinner, catered by Mary Lynne Fry Caterer.
All Corked Up Wine Festival
It was a night filled with dancing, live music, food, casino prizes and who could forget…wine. All Corked Up presented The Wine Festival Taste of All Corked up on Saturday May 9. The successful event began at 6 p.m. and showcased top wines such as, Silver Oak, Groth, Tobin James and many more.

Although it was a scorching 100 degrees, more than 500 SCV families left their air-conditioned homes to visit Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s fourth annual SCV Healthy Baby Expo on Sunday, May 17.

On Tuesday, May 5, Golden Valley High School presented the Celebrity Basketball Game, with proceeds benefiting the Actors for Autism non-profit organization.

The Saugus High School cheerleaders have had an exciting and rewarding year. On March 28 the competition squad took first place, earning them a National title in the small JV intermediate division at the USA West Coast Nationals in Anaheim.

Henry Mayoâs Silver Rose Debutantes End Social Season in Grand Style
Resplendent in white satin, the Henry Mayo Silver Rose debutantes ended their social season in style at the Grand Ball on March 28, 2009. Attended by 160 guests in the Starview Room at the Universal Sheraton Hotel, the eight high school seniors out-dazzled the spectacular night sky as they bowed, curtsied, and danced with their fathers and escorts.
A New Day
The Persian New Year (or Norouz, which literally translates to “new day” in Farsi) takes place on the first day of spring, and is celebrated by Iranians all over the world. In Santa Clarita, the owners of Mom & Pop’s International Market and Persia Restaurant hosted a lavish dinner party to celebrate the New Year. Iranian families and friends across Southern California came out to Robinson Ranch on Friday, March 20, 2009 to enjoy a spread of classic Iranian foods and desserts, and to dance the night away alongside belly dancers and live music.

The stars were out as Santa Clarita’s best came to shimmy and shake the night away at the first ever Dancing with Our Stars event at the Valencia Hyatt. On Saturday, April 18, twelve couples showcased their dance routines and competed in front of a sold-out crowd of over 350 guests!
