Jacks Over Sevens
Jacks over sevens, that’s how I went out on Saturday, September 12 at the SCV Youth Project Poker Tournament. Guests came with high hopes and large wallets for the SCV Youth Project’s Annual Hold ‘em Not Hassle ‘em Poker Tournament. Silent auction items lined the Oaks Grille at TPC while participants enjoyed a delicious taco/nacho bar and chocolate candy on the tables.

A Sweet Success
It was an all-around “sweet” night on Saturday, August 8 at the first annual Sweet Charity Cake Auction benefitting the SCV Youth Project. While totals are still being calculated they most likely raised more than $10,000 that will go towards necessary services provided by SCV Youth Project.
Rockin’ Summer Nights a Hit
Santa Claritans were dancing the night away at the Rockin’ Summer Nights concert series at the Westfield Valencia Town Center. On Tuesday, July 7, young fans danced with the Radio Disney Street Team and enjoyed performances by Letters to the Editor.

The stars were out as the 2009 graduating class of Castaic Elementary School made their way down the red carpet. The school was transformed into CES Star Studios for the 5th grade field day and the graduating superstars loved every minute of it.
New CPK On the Block
Fortune smiled upon us, and The Magazine of Santa Clarita was invited by the California Pizza Kitchen to attend their pre-opening, staff training exercise, and I was treated to a gratis meal at the event. This was not a typical “food on the house” affair, however.
A Black & White Benefit
Everyone dressed in their black and white attire for the “Lighting Our Future” Boys & Girls Club Auction on Saturday June 13. Located at the Mann BioMedical Park in Valencia, the 38th Annual Auction held a raffle, live auction and bid board items.
