How Many Golfers Does it Take to Feed the Homeless?

We are hoping for at least 100.  J.R.’s Comedy Club is proud to be producing our Celebrity Golf Classic at Robinson Ranch on October 12.  All proceeds for this event will be going to the Santa Clarita Homeless Shelter.  Each golf foursome will play with a nationally known headlining comedian.  After the very fun day of golf, there will be a gala dinner and comedy show, with many of the comics performing five minutes each.

Fillmore & Western Railway Co. is celebrating their seventh year of producing “Search for the Headless Horseman Family Dinner Trains.”  This year a huge fundraising event is planned on Thursday, October 15 to benefit Heart of A Horse foundation, a non-profit entity based in Moorpark.  Heart of A Horse is a foundation that seeks to promote the well-being of horses through educational campaigns that raise public awareness of horse rescues, that oppose horse abuse and horse slaughter, and that teach the public the basics of good horse care and training.

People will tell us that they did not even know there was a homeless shelter in Santa Clarita.  The good people at The Santa Clarita Community Development Corp. have been providing three vital services to our most needy for the last 12 years.  A warm bed to spend the night; three meals each day; transitional support to get back on their feet.
