18th Annual Fundraiser Benefits Senior Center’s Home Delivered Meals

Mardi Gras is coming to the Santa Clarita Valley August 22 as the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation hosts “A Hot August Night,” the 18th annual benefit dinner and auction to raise funds for the Senior Center’s Home Delivered Meals program.

Hart’s fall dance team seniors, Kimmi Schott, Carly Ramsey, Kaitlin Flores, and Melissa Dubron, welcomed the newest members of their team by surprising each of them with a “Hart Attack.”  Luckily, no one required a trip to the hospital in spite of the shock!

It’s hard to believe it, but Man’oushee, the first Mediterranean Bakery and Café in the Santa Clarita Valley, marks its first year in business on June 12, 2009. Man’oushee is a small bakery-Café that cranks out Lebanese desserts and delicacies like five kinds of Baklava including Nammoura, attayef, knefeh, etc as well as salads, savory wraps and custom-ordered, traditional Lebanese Breakfast lunch and dinner. Order Makes Possible a Donation of 40,000 Pots of Coffee to Military Members

Newhall Coffee Roasting Company expresses appreciation to Sam’s Club for their order of 91,000 pounds of Newhall’s Patriot Blend and 61,000 pounds of Old Town Newhall blend.  “We’re delighted by this very substantial order,” says Newhall Coffee founder and CEO Mitch McMullen.  “Sam’s Club’s support of our Patriot Blend makes it possible for us to send a 40,000 coffee pot donation to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Maybe someone can explain this to me, as I’m thoroughly confused.  A couple of weeks ago I received a letter in the mail.  It was from an ex boyfriend – from 21 years ago!  Apparently, I’d been on his mind for some time and he finally found me.  This, in itself, is not unusual, right?
