Celebrity Sightings

Mamarazzi here, with the Hollywood scoop in Santa Clarita.  It was certainly a star-studded month as actors and athletes were seen around our Valley!

Roll out the red carpet, Santa Clarita, the stars are most certainly here!  Thank you for all your emails and sightings—it’s making my job as “mamarazzi” an easy one! 

It’s the lucky month of March, and fortune did indeed bring Santa Clarita some celebrities for me to report.  You may recognize our first celebrity—he’s the former sports broadcaster from the Channel 7 news.  Todd Donoho is an American radio and television journalist.  He has worked on ESPN Radio, Fox Sports Net, and on the nationally syndicated Mark & Brian Show.  I spotted Todd Donoho at the Hall of Fame Induction at the College of the Canyons.  Todd was the evening’s guest speaker. 

Chances are, if you live in the Santa Clarita Valley, you’ll run into a film crew or see some signs for film production around town.  You may even see a familiar place when you watch a movie or television show.  Why?  Because filming in the Santa Clarita is up.  Television shows such as HBO’s “Big Love,” CBS’s “NCIS” and “The Unit” is filmed out here.  FX’s “The Riches” has also filmed in Santa Clarita.

It was a star studded 2008 as many celebrities were seen around our Valley, such as N’Sync’s Joey Fatone, comedian and actor Dave Coulier, teen heartthrobs Drake Bell and Josh Peck, “twilight’s” Taylor Lautner, along with the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Milan.  And as the New Year brings new resolutions it will surely bring in the celebrities, too!  Get your cameras ready, Santa Clarita!

I’m so excited to report that I sighted one of December’s most famous celebrities—yes!  Santa Claus himself!  I spotted Santa at the Westfield Valencia Town Center and asked the popular, red suited, bearded man if I could take a photo with him.  With a huge holiday grin, he said, “Of course!”  I also told him I’d send a copy of The Magazine of Santa Clarita to the North Pole so he could show all his elves.  ‘Tis the season to be jolly!

And the celebrities keep rolling in! Sure the stock market may have gone down, but the celebrity sightings are surely on the way up!  Thank you Santa Clarita for making my job as “mamarazzi” an easy one!  I’m enjoying all of the wonderful emails from readers all over the valley.  Keep em’ coming, Santa Clarita!

Call me “Mama-razzi”--the celebrities are here!  And what better celebrity to sight in the month of October than Tyler Mane, a.k.a. Michael Myers from the movie Halloween.  Tyler Mane is also known for his role in X-Men as Sabretooth, a mutant possessing superhuman physical abilities such as an accelerating healing factor that allows him to heal faster than any ordinary human. Tyler Mane was recently seen at a photo shoot for élite Magazine.  For a more detailed profile of Tyler Mane, check out the October/November issue of élite.

Get those cameras ready, Santa Clarita. As you roam the mall to find that sale or dine the many delicious restaurants that fill our Valley, make sure you have your cameras with you at all times.  You never know which star you’re going to run into.  And don’t be shy—take a photo with your favorite celebrity and be sure and share your brush with fame with us.  The stars are here, Santa Clarita! 

Newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon at Six Flags!

It’s plastered all over the cover of magazines, the Internet and all the gossip columns.  Yes, it’s true-- rapper and comedian Nick Cannon wed legendary musical icon, Mariah Carey. 

It’s no wonder that with the multitudes of paparazzi swarming Hollywood, numerous celebrities escape to the Santa Clarita Valley to enjoy a little rest and relaxation! 

Oh, the people you sometimes see when you’re out shopping…if you don’t have your eyes too focused on the sales, you’ll spot celebrities, just as Sandy Garcia and her daughters did recently while shopping at the Santa Clarita Valley Target store.

The rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park continue to have universal appeal, no matter what a person’s occupation is as proven by the recent sighting of David Hasselhoff, star of Baywatch and the new America’s Got Talent television show.  The thrills and spills of the Batman ride were a definite draw for the star who was spotted riding it last month.
